TEXT: Mathematics with Applications, 9th edition, by Lial, Hungerford and Holcomb

PREREQUISITES: ACT of 19 or higher, or a C or better in Math 045.

ATTENDANCE POLICY: Attendance will be taken daily (twice on Friday). To be excused from a class you must notify me before the absence. Excused absences include medical excuses, institutional excuses, etc.  If you are late by more than 10 minutes, or leave early, you will be considered absent.

MAKING UP WORK: Only excused absences will enable a student to make up work (Exams, etc.). You must have an excuse for the day you missed and for every subsequent day until you have made up the work.

CALCULATOR USE: Graphing calculators will be forbidden on most exams and quizzes. When they are allowed it will be under the condition that I have cleared the memory. However, on the final exam you may have either a graphing calculator (that I will not clear) OR a 3 x 5 index card and a non-graphing calculator.

CHEATING: If you are caught cheating you will receive a ZERO on the assignment (exam etc.).

DAILY GRADE: The daily grade will be computed by adding together the scores you receive in the following areas and then scaling the result to 100 points.
